Bad science. Bad, bad science

Arctic blast

When a solar eclipse sends a colossal blast of super chilled air towards the earth, it then sets off a catastrophic chain of events that threatens to engulf the world in ice and begin a new Ice Age.

Words cannot convey just how WRONG this is. Michael Shanks and everyone else involved with this movie - WHY?

That must be the solar wind. And because it's an eclipse, it's a dark and cold wind. Right? *blinks*

I think my head just imploded.

I'm not sure the people who came up with this know a) what a solar eclipse is, b) what space consists of and c) why Earth has Ice Ages.

I can't believe this is an actual movie.

I am very sure that they do NOT. I've taught science to 13 year olds. Any one of them could point out the flaws in this. So how the Hell did a movie get made, with dozens, probably hundreds of people involved, and not one of them said, "Umm, guys?"

Ahaha. How do you even dream up something like that? What air? Air from space?

Yep. Air from space.

IDEK. Did the writer not even bother to read a Wikipedia entry? It's a terrifying level of ignorance.

First I picked up my jaw, then I looked at your icon and laughed. Okay, no. First I reread it to be sure it really said that. Oh my gods that's bad.

It's really, really, REALLY bad. I actually went and FOUND that icon, just for this post. I knew someone, somewhere on the Internet must have made an icon of that scene!
