I really liked the high angst factor here and the parts with RayK. I'm not a fan of anything with Victoria. I know she was part of Fraser's past, but I try not to think about it too much. Still, I definitely preferred the second half of the vid and enjoyed that part.

I don't think anyone likes Victoria. It's just that you learn things about Fraser from looking at his interactions with her that you would never otherwise know.

I'm glad you enjoyed the angst. Thanks for the feedback, grey!

Thanks for the link - the clips were all very well-chosen and the song was a perfect fit. I liked the way you explored Fraser's inability to connect with those around him. You feel bad for the character, of course, but you also feel like shaking him, and I think the sense of frustration came through very well. RayV and RayK and Dief all seemed to exhibit it, and even the viewer towards the end. Fraser does seem "broken" (by Victoria, by the circumstances of isolation and rationalization that comprise his birth) and your vid did an excllent job of looking at the canon material through that lens. Very well done!

Oh yeah. Fraser (in this vid) takes the normal disagreements, miscommmunications, and conflicts that occur in any relationship, and views them as betrayals. Not a good way to live.

Thanks fot letting me hear your thoughts on it!

Here via sdwolfpup's rec.

Ooh, this was OUCHY! I particularly loved the last quarter, with Fraser being a dumbass (did he shoot Dief in this vidverse? Did he? Eep!?) -- beautiful!

I'm not sure if Fraser actually did, but the fact he was willing to do so is enough in itself to destroy things. Luckily Dief is a hell of a lot more forgiving than I would be.

BTW, while I was down with the flu last week I rampaged through your fic and read about two dozen of them. I wasn't feeling well enough to comment, but I loved them to bits. "This is Your Life", "The Sweet Hereafter", "Soft Arithmetic", "The Elevator Diaries", "Making Peace", "Brave and Crazy", "Cryptonomicon", and more.

Thank you for the feedback and for the great stories, China Shop!

It's just that Dief wasn't in the shot of the burned apartment at the end, and I wondered how deliberate that was. *scolds Fraser into not being a dumbass anymore*

And, aw, yay! Thank you so much! :-)

Oh, that was very deliberate. Just like I couldn't use the classic "Fraser in the window with candles" clip for "I'm a loser at love", because I'd just shown Bob Fraser disappearing with his mother.

Wow, this was good. Really, really good. Your pacing and cutting is excellent! I’m finding it so hard to learn to cut clips pace wise and working with the song I’m vidding, I have no sense of rhythm! I have no idea who you ship, but I adored the segment around 1:52 of Fraser cutting to Vecchio/fed agent kissing then back to Fraser... I don’t know if you were trying to put across a Fraser/Vecchio slash vibe, but I certainly picked up the suggestion of it. However, that’s the beauty of TV and vidding, its all open to interpretation. Personally, I’m a die hard Fraser/Kowalski girl, I just thought it was extremely clever editing on your behalf ^_^

You know what I absolutely adored? The quick flashes of Victoria right through Vecchio leaving Fraser, Victoria again during Fraser and Kowalski’s fight and even with Deif... Oh, such a pleasurable ouch there that you managed to pull off!

2:37 - I loved how you used clips with specific camera movement here; it helped break down the whole vid.

In conclusion: ♥

Ooh, I love detailed feedback.

I have no sense of rhythm
I struggled with that at first, but its much easier now. "Vidding to the Beat" was incredibly helpful to me when I learning how to do this. Seriously, check it out.

I'm mainly a Fraser/RayK girl myself, but this is the anti-ship vid, wherein I detail why Fraser can't make it work with either Ray.

1:52 of Fraser cutting to Vecchio/fed agent kissing then back to Fraser
On the lyric, "I'm afraid that I'm queer"? Nope, complete coincidence. Vecchio was not thinking of Fraser in that moment. Not at all. *grins*

The quick flashes of Victoria
Once burned, twice shy. Fraser's got issues.

Thank you, justqueenie!

I finally just watched this and I LOVED it. Seriously I love this so much. I'm not really sure why Victoria's haunting the demise of Fraser's relationships with the Rays and Dief--because she's the one that made him not able to connect with people? Anyway, I REALLY LOVED DIEF. Mad points for making him like the most important of Fraser's relationships, because, well, he IS.

Thank you, Fenlings!

Fraser's experience with Victoria has made him perceive normal issues and problems as betrayals - like a flashback. I appreciate the Dief comments - almost no one picked up on what I was saying about him and his relationship with Fraser in this vid.

Thank you, sol! It's an angst-fest, not to everyone's tastes, so I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it.

Hi, I downloaded this vid, like, a year ago and apparently never commented to tell you how much you rock. Um. HI. YOU ROCK HARD. I keep it in my hard drive 'cause sometimes, I say, "Fraser, you are IMPOSSIBLE to make happy. WTF. Why won't you go be cute with somebody the way you are supposed to?" And then I watch your vid and remember, "Oh yes. Angsty Fraser is good." And then my writer's block goes away. So, um, yeah. Thanks for that.

Angsty Fraser is very good indeed. I'm delighted that I'm a cure for writer's block! Hurray! Thanks for the comment, Giuletta!
