WIP meme

Gakked from dsudis. Post the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous.

This was rather interesting. The oldest is from 2005. The two most recent I'm working on today, thanks to my cheerleading team!

Archivist - HL Watcher story
Arctic Adventure - dS Quest story I'm trying to finish a rought draft of in the next week
Body notes - creepy HL story from '06
By Any Means Necessary - SPN dark, problematic weecest story
Catch - Richie-centric HL story from '05
Discretion - brandie-new HL story I'm working on, possibly involving Fitzcairn
Don't Fear the Reaper - dark SPN story with Dean in the final weeks before his Deal comes due
Eye Witnesses - SPN Henricksen story
From Lust with Love - SPN story about, you guessed it, the demon Lust
Genetics - Anne-centric HL drabble from '07. Yes, this 100 words has stumped me for YEARS.
Great Power - SPN snippet about Sammy beating up a bully
Maintiens le Droit - dark dS story about RayK and Fraser on the trail of a serial killer
Methos Sang to Himself - HL, part of the 3rd in the 'Dawson Chronicles'
Midnight dialog notes - more about that 3rd in the HL trilogy
NOLA Hunt - SPN remix of a pre-series story about Dean and a hunt gone very, very wrong
One working part - SPN Bobby, the Impala and the Winchesters in 2x01.
Psych Bin - dS future-fic. RayK gets word that Fraser's been institutionalized up in Yellowknife
Ray in car - dS This is a fragment of a really cool case-fic that I hope I finish some day, set soon after RayK replaces RayV, and Fraser tries to work a case without him for the man's own good.
re - OK, what the hell is this file? It won't even open. Why is it my WIP folder?
Runaways - SPN. Pre-series outsider-POV casefic in which the boys show up at a shelter for teen runaways. Trying to finish a rough draft of this before the end of the month.
St. Luke's - Another piece of the 'Ray in the car' dS casefic
Sydney Opera House - HL thriller from 07. This one stalled out because Duncan doesn't know what's going on, and Methos is being so secretive he won't even tell ME. Bastard.
Team Free Will - SPN Lucifer-centric drabble
The Thin Blue Line - Vorkosigan. Simon, Aral, and Cordelia watch the holo-drama of their own personal tragedy.
Vodou Story - HL story focusing on the OC from my 'Dawson Chronicles' trilogy. What? Jean-Pierre is awesome!

The serial killer fic still scares me. But Psych Bin is high up there on my To Do list!

Cool! I think I might have to do this meme. I, too, have things in my WIP folder that are ridiculously old.

*nods* 2005 and 3 fandoms ago. Some of these may be beyond hope.

Me, too; me, too--what Luz said. I have to do this one. Um, after tomorrow (deadline).

I think I'll do an art WIP-list and a fic WIP-list.

You are at the top of both those lists. Your painting's still underway (in fact, I made some progress--in sketching and rethinking the figure--during the LONG renovation--over 6 months--when I couldn't paint in oil). I have a huge sheaf of drawings now (real, I promise! --hee-- Aka has seen them) and finally got Fraser's position redone. I'll email you soon.

And at the top of my fic list is the Con Job sequel--certianly not the oldest item on the list, but it's the one I most want to do next.

Eeee, excited about the painting. And the sequel to Con Job! That's going to be so amazing, to see you get Ray and Fraser out of the corner I painted them into.

Reason #37 I'm Glad You're Still Working on the 'Guilty Until Proven Innocent' Painting - If you weren't, I would feel horribly guilty about not having finished your 'Love is a Good Thing' vid yet. My VIP (Vidding in Progress) folder only has 3 projects in it, and yours is top of the list!

I love your reason #37, because I have the same reason. That vid is, like, insurance against guilt for me! Okay, well...I admit I've been feeling a touch guilty anyway, since the painting was late long before the vid thing, and although I was sketching and working on your project all summer, I couldn't actually paint, with the house upside down from the [RL stuff, I'll email] and my oil supplies inaccessible, so I was feeling kind of thwarted as well.

Tell you what...

...let's make a Zero Guilt pact, okay? Fandom is supposed to be fun!

I will be okay with whatever happens about the vid--heaven knows I have a list of promises and obligations as long as my arm and I fully intend to discharge every single one perfectly, but I'm sure at this point when I tell people that it strains their credulity. :( I did get all the gloves done, but I'm so far behind on fannish promises that I'm sure it seems like I won't make it. However, most of those items are simply things I have to mail, and I have organizational skills now that I didn't have before, and I also am recruiting help. And I'm getting to them one by one. So I'm encouraged, but still digging out.

For every fannish item that gets discharged there is a RL one that has to be put aside for a bit, and as you can imagine, people who are present here physically are the squeakier wheels. It's the tension I've been under for a long time, but I am learning to let go of it and just let things flow more (which is my natural bent anyway, and which is, perhaps ironically, getting things done faster). So for anyone else who has any creative project slowing or stalling or just not ready yet...I wrote the book on it, and I have endless patience for their process.

And you know, one of the major reasons, or maybe the major reason that we get in these binds is that we want to do so much, our minds go so fast! Our vision is out there far ahead of the ability of physical things to manifest. We're visionaries. :)

So, seriously, do not feel any guilt on my account! I already get maximum joy out of anticipating the vid. I enjoy the song all the time; I went to Amazon and bought an MP3 copy of it and play it on my iPod and dance.... :)

Finally, about your painting, it's ultimately a good thing I had this interruption. I have better skills now and a much better idea of how to go about this project. I will be working on it today, and I'll email you within the next couple of hours, because I've got a couple of questions for you.

Shakes pompoms and does cartwheels for "Runaways"!

Also love Richie. I vote for working on "Catch"

*salutes* I'm working on it! The Richie one, you might have noticed, is the very oldest. Intersting OC in that one, though.

Ooooo, shiny! Psych Bin, and Ray in car, yespliz! :)
Feb. 19th, 2011 06:07 pm (UTC)
Both of them are stalled out in research land right now. Don't suppose you're an expert on the DSM-IV or the Chinese Cultural Revolution?
Feb. 25th, 2011 04:22 am (UTC)
How is that due South story going? Makes googly eyes - are you writing?

I am really curious about the "Fraser being institutionalized up North" WIP...

Feb. 25th, 2011 07:11 am (UTC)
How is it going? 1.2 scenes away from a first draft being completed. And the one scene is written in one of these freaking notebooks, I just can't FIND it. *snarls* Thanks for the kick in the ass, I needed that.

The 'Fraser institutionalized' one's a good story, but not at the top of my to-do list at the moment. I need some puppies and rainbows, and that one's NOT IT.
