Top 10 AO3 Hits Meme

Gakked via, wow, everyone. I've got over 100 stories up on the Archive now. I've been steadily uploading them.

1. Life, stripped of all luxuries (2609 words) by faviconkeerawa
Fandom: Chalion Saga - Bujold
Slash Yuletide, baby! I'm really pleased with this one, so I'm delighted it's got both the most hits and the most comments.

2. Like Taking Candy from a Baby (267 words) by faviconkeerawa
Fandom: Dresden Files - Butcher
This one, on the other hand, I whipped out as a fun little Yuletide Madness treat for someone in 10 minutes flat, and it's got over 700 hits?!? I feel like I need to spend more time and energy on my treats. I suppose Dresden files has turned into a big fandom?

3. O Drom si Baro (The Road is Long) (1576 words) by faviconkeerawa
Fandom: Supernatural
I wrote this one for the Race-bending Challenge. Supernatural's a big fandom, and I think it's an awesome AU, so YAY!

4. Space Duty Sucks (1252 words) by faviconkeerawa
Fandom: Babylon 5
Another Yuletide fic. 42 comments with 465 hits, which seems to be an extraordinarily high ratio. I'm not sure why. Maybe the B5 fans are very enthusiastic? Or perhaps Garibaldi's just THAT much fun! Who knows?

5. Comsets and Conspiracies (697 words) by faviconkeerawa
Fandom: Vorkosigan series
My first non-challenge-related entry. The Vorkosigan books seem vey popular, which could explain it.

6. Coyote, Spelled ‘T-R-O-U-B-L-E’ (2519 words) by faviconkeerawa
Fandom: Mercy Thompson Series - Patricia Briggs
This year's Yuletide entry. A bit more obscure than the other book fandoms, but still fun! And, hey, it's good to get to use that werewolf tag!

7. Artistic Vision (150 words) by faviconkeerawa
Fandom: Dresden Files (books)
Another goofy little Dresden files snippet. Not even written for Yuletide. Is Dresden Files a big fandom, or just big on AO3?

8. to pierce the icy calm of the dead (100 words) by faviconkeerawa
Fandom: World of Warcraft
Yes, boys and girls, it's a gen World of Warcraft Yuletide Madness drabble with a Rape/Non-Con warning! Which apparently brings all the readers to the yard. (Honestly - I posted a Rape/Non-Con Supernatural piece yesterday and it immediately got 8 hits. I think people are searching for it as an Enticement.) Computer games as fandom, very cool.

The Captain Always Loved a Good Rescue (573 words) by faviconkeerawa
Fandom: The Wire, Firefly
Omar Little in SPACE! It's a fun Yuletide Madness treat. I think crossing it over with Firefly was kind of cheating. Someone recently contacted me and asked if they could write a follow-up story. Wouldn't that be AWESOME?

10. Safe House (3960 words) by faviconkeerawa
Fandom: due South
Well, that was a dark horse. Not sure how or why this one got so many (by my standards) hits. Maybe it was recc'd somewhere, and the person linked to it on AO3 instead of LJ? Or it could be that Rape/Non-Con warning again.

I saw this meme on another flisties journal and thought about doing it myself. I've only got 22 stories there so far, though, so maybe I'll wait.

That's great that your stories are getting so many hits and comments, you deserve them!

I'm not getting a lot of hits, or comments for most of what's posted there, so it's good to know people DO comment, I was starting to wonder about that!

I'm gonna work my way through this list, because I don't think I've read most of what's on it!

*edited to add* Oh, yes please, to whoever want to follow up on Omar in space!

Well, it's mostly Yuletide stuff or things written for challenges that's gotten the hits. Some fandoms seem to have a lot of readers over there, but not the ones I'm writing in at the moment. (Last year's SPN remix_redux fic was #11, though!)

Just read your dS story "Father Confessor", and I don't have an ao3 account and really wanted to comment. Mostly to say some kind of congrats on the original idea and pov, on the subtle way you capture Vecchio from afar and getting it right, you know. On the fact it's a good unique story. Good unique story! Okay, you can move on now.

Want an AO3 account? I have a spare invite I just sent you! And here's the code: 9efec16caf3eae96d801c12ac41f673e642cb557

Thank you sparklebutch! I'm still really pleased with 'Father Confessor'. I stepped outside my comfort zone to try something completely different, and I feel like it came together just like I'd hoped.

I stepped outside my comfort zone

I'm even more glad I left this comment, then.

I have a spare invite I just sent you

Thank you! ....Um, what does that mean? Sent where?

Oh, I emailed the invite to your LF mail. But you can just go to the AO3 and enter the invite code:

I appreciate the code, I do. But they seem to think I'm to get a url into which I put the code, and I have no idea what LF would be.

Argh. sparklebutch@livejournal.com email is where I sent it.
