Snowflake Challenge Day 1 - Self-Recs

From akamine-chan.
In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Drop a link to your post in the comments.
What, only three? I can do better than that.

Something Old
The Price of Interference (Highlander)
Joe Dawson: Watcher, Vietnam vet, bartender, bluesman ... assassin? Joe overhears a conversation never meant for his ears. The consequences will require him to reveal old secrets, face his personal demons, and take care of an unstable Immortal. 36k words

You know how people are always saying, "Oh, my early work was crap. It's hidden under my bed/burned/taken down off the internet?" Well, this is my first fan fiction, written a little over six years ago. Thanks to some heroic beta work by mackiedockie, I'm still damn proud of it. It's insightful, it's fast-paced, and I love the way I wrote Joe and my OC, Jean Pierre. Oddly enough, it's the longest story I've ever written.

Something New
Our Lady of the Harbor (Suzanne - Leonard Cohen Song)
I met Suzanne one cold spring morning on an Alaskan beach, where a river spilled into the sea.

I wrote this one last week for Yuletide. It's a femme-slash short story. You don't need to have heard the song to appreciate the story, but here's a link in case you would like to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkamRumVXn4. I'm particularly pleased with this one because you get two stories for the price of one. The text is Heather's coming of age story about falling in love, and you can also read Suzanne's story, between the lines, about a selkie finding love on a cold Alaskan beach.

Something Borrowed
Whatever You Say (The Vehicular Displacement Remix) (Supernatural)
Sam/Dean/Impala. Somehow, even when whammied by a spell that makes him do whatever Dean says, Sam still gets his way. This is an alternative ending remix of jasmasson's delightfully kinky Sam/Dean fic, Whatever You Say. Explicit incest, dirty talk, voyeurism, exhibitionism, masturbation, mention of underage UST, fun games with dynamics of power, control, and consent. I suppose, given that it's 'magic made them do it' cliché fic, that I should warn for dubcon. Also, there may or may not be a threesome with the Impala. 4.2k words [NC-17]

Did someone say remix? Or was it porn? Let me show you my id! This was the first fic I ever had someone tell me they had an orgasm to, so, \o/.

Something Blue
Inescapable Realities (Due South)
Fraser/Kowalski. Just another morning up in the NWT. (PG)

I've also been known to make people cry in under 300 words.

Something Dark
Three Days on the Rack by faviconkeerawa, faviconreena_jenkins (Supernatural)
It’s been months, but Sam finally found a crossroads demon willing to Deal to get Dean’s soul out of Hell. The Deal sounded too good to be true. Sam took it anyway.

The darkest, most fucked-up love story I've ever written, created as part of the pod_together challenge with Reena Jenkins. It's also the most popular thing I've ever written, judging by the AO3 hit counts. Mind the warnings, and go listen to Reena's stunning podfic!

Or, for a story that is a bit less dark to the reader, but messed with my head the most:

Safe House (Due South)
Ray/Ray. In the summer of '96, two CPD detectives meet for the first time in a safe house on the outskirts of Chicago. Very dark, with warnings for language, violence, and dubcon. 4k words (NC-17)

Something Bright
Ride the Lightning (Supernatural)
Season 2 gen case-fic. An investigation of some unusual electrical storms in Seattle leads the Winchesters undercover in a gay fraternity. 7.3k words [PG-13]

This story is my love letter to Supernatural, and it makes me truly happy every time I read it.

Something Fun to Watch Before You Sleep Tonight
Zen and the Art of the Homicide Detective (Life)
Charlie tries to live a life of compassion and joy. Song 19-2000 (Soulchild Remix), by Gorillaz.

I've also been known to vid! Here's one of my personal favorites. It's bouncy and sweet despite moments of darkness, and captures so much of what I love about Charlie Crews.
