I think it was the expression on your face that made me laugh far too loudly in the quiet room but it was that moment when in the midst of one of my long winded explanations as to the importance of political graphitti that I knocked over your rose petal martini. Not only was this desicration of good booze but the very real threat of having your new white T-shirt permanently stained produced a very comical look of panic.
Happily the tablecloth was up to soakingg the red saturation of the Hansa blossoms and distaster was partial averted but there still was the fuss of making a new martini but I observed that it was worth doing and doing well.
You had just rolled your eyes and took another sip as I started to talk again.

That was when I realized, if I was going drinking with you, it was best to do so au naturel. It does somewhat cut down on the public venues where we can imbibe, but those that welcome us do so with open arms!

AND THEN THERE WAS THAT TIME WE MET ON THE TRAIN.
I had the Star Wars book and you had the dreamy look in your eyes, and we continually raided the snack carriage for chips but there was never any booze, which was probably just as well because long train rides tend to result in serious travel-sickness after the fact, so combining that with a hangover wouldn't have been good.

But it was so awesome. We should do that again sometime. In Canada.

Oh, those BBQ chips were addictive, weren't they? I'm so glad you were geeking out with the pro-fic that day, or we never would have met!

Personally I'm fond of that time when we met, and it was awkward in that tripping over each other way so we both burst out in huge, loud laughter and instantly awkward was permanently banished from our interactions.

And it's been that way between us ever since. *tackle-glomps*

Oh. Oh! Remember the time that we went New Orleans and ended up with our canoe stranded in the bayou after the alligators ate our paddles?

That was great fun! I whittled new ones with my pocket knife, and we took our revenge by eating gator for 3 meals straight once we got back to civilization. It really DOES taste like chicken, doesn't it?

I still can't believe you actually are all that licorice!

Or even ate it...

Well, red licorice is my favorite! Or it was, anyway. Until I decided to eat ALL the extra ones at the con. I scared that cute off-duty cop half to death, too. He thought I was bleeding internally when I hurled all over his shoes!
